You are 5 years old! This is certainly an emotional time for me as you are going to be in kinder soon, 7 weeks to be exact, but who's counting! Your brother is going into middle school and I will be at home alone for the first time. I remember the days going by very fast when bubba was in kinder so that helped but there is something about you being away every day. The baby, my last.....I don't know but I will miss you like crazy! I know the first few weeks will be tough for me but I am excited for you! You will have new experiences, meet new friends and gain a new found independence.
Emma you are so smart it actually makes me pause at times. Some of the information you retain surprises me, and the big words you use impress me! I see you being very studious, attentive and disciplined! All the things I was not but your daddy was...is!
You are still very shy with strangers. Even with some people you know or have met a few times. I never want to push you out of that shyness because its your personality. I love that you are cautious of people. It has made you very perceptive! Your manners are of course very good but when it comes to strangers or a moment of shyness you don't care. Your lips are sealed! You may give a grin as a thank you for something but that is usually about it. You put your head down, turn it to whatever direction I am and just look at me like....."mommy you know I am saying thank you in my mind but I am not saying it out loud". So I say it for you and because you have such a sweetness about you I know no-one takes offense that you don't say thank you out loud or if you do its very quiet!
We can take you anywhere and have always been able to! I can take you to any appt I have and everyone compliments you on how quiet and well behaved you are! Now its screen in hand that usually keeps your attention but its kept none the less! Cash was the same way...just easy to take any where!
At home you are very talkative and bossy! You tell Cash how it is and he always says you are "sassy". I think its funny that he recognizes that about you! You are still so good about playing by yourself. I have organized your toys in to different bins. Getting you to put them back in the right bin is somewhat of a challenge and a work in progress. Well getting you to pick your toys up at all is a work in progress but you will get there! You never want to get rid of anything so when its time to purge I like to do it without you around or else we would purge nothing. We did this recently and you did actually agree to get rid of some things and others I had to insist. I hope this is not a future indication of a hoarding habit.:)
You love to dance, sing, entertain and on the flip side of that you can lay and watch tv or your iPad for hours (if allowed). Cuddling is still one of your favorite things to do and WE LOVE that about you! You love to sleep in mommy and daddy's bed when allowed. I cuddle with you a little bit after your bedtime ritual. You still say the sweetest things like "you are my best girl!". I hope you always express your feelings in such a sweet and honest way! You can be doing anything and pause to tell one of us you love us! In fact it reminds me to take more moments to say I love you! You make me a better mother, woman and person! All three of you do but it is my relationship with you that softened me.
To say you are girlie is an understatement! I didn't decorate your room in pink when you were a baby or even when I realized you were very girlie and loved pink! I knew I wanted to change your room up before kinder so we did just that. Your daddy painted your walls a beautiful shade of pink called Romance and along with your new bedding it turned out just precious! More importantly you love it. The thing that touched me the most is that you still wanted your milestone pictures up along with the pictures of you in my belly and then right after you were born held so close to me as if you were still in there!
Last but certainly never least....you are SO FUNNY!!!!! We are constantly laughing at the things you say. You have a great sense of humor! Very much like your daddy you say things off the cuff. The other night at dinner you said your corn dog tasted like "frog toes". Where you come up with these things I have no idea but you are hilarious! Last night you asked about losing teeth and said, pointing to your front left tooth "this one is my trickiest" and pointing to the front right "and this one is un-tricky".
We love you so much precious girl. I dread how fast I know the next 5 years will go but I also look forward to watching you grow every year! I can't wait to see you go through so many new experiences in elementary school! May God continue to bless you and guide you!
