Port A with the Leavelle's

For Labor Day weekend we decided to go to the beach with the Leavelle's.  We picked up Cash from school early on Friday and headed to Port A.  This was Emma's true first trip to the beach.

We got close to Corpus and Emma literally screamed her head off for what seemed like forever!!!!!  I say again...she is just not good with being stuck in her car seat for any period of time.  I say "any period of time" because that could even be 10 minutes.   We had to pull over in a shopping strip parking lot, take her out of her seat, and stand outside the car rocking from side to side until she fell asleep.  I then had to hold her the entire way to the resort.  Cash was happy as he got to sit up front with Ben.

It's crazy how much stuff you pack for 4 people and we still didn't have enough food.  Ridiculous!  Stephanie brought tamales and pasta sauce for two dinners and we went out for one.  I brought chili, pasta and salad stuff to go with.  It all turned out great!!  We made sandwiches during the day and ate breakfast on our own.  It was very relaxing...all accept....EMMA!  She is so a creature of habit that traveling at this age is not for her.  She likes her bed, her house, and just all things at home.  She didn't sleep good which means we didn't sleep good and the minute we got home she was back to normal.  Oh well....she won't be this age forever...and we are just taking every moment in.

I took her out to the beach a few times and she decided instead of just playing in the sand she would try tasting it.  I thought for sure that she would think it was nasty..not so much!  She ate a little more...fiber??  She had sand in places you shouldn't have sand.

Cash had a blast!  He was in the water probably 85% of the time and was loving every minute of it!  He was not ready to come home and Emma couldn't wait to be home.  I remember Cash being such a good little traveler at her age.  I still think its amazing to see their differences and their similarities!
