Emma's 1st Birthday - Everything Pink

It is unreal that it is already Emma's first birthday.  It literally seems like yesterday we were headed to labor and delivery.  We started the day with just being super excited that it's her birthday!  I didn't wrap her gifts, which is strange for me as I am usually all over that but it's not her personality to care about the ribbon and the wrapping.  Which I only found out later when we started unwrapping gifts our guests brought for her.  Ben wanted to pick out her birthday gifts which I thought was so sweet and he did a great job!!  We pulled them out and let her explore with all of them.  He got her an Elmo "If You're Happy and You Know It" book, a Little People scooter and moroccos as she loves anything that makes noise when she shakes it.  She loves everything!

I decorated yesterday so I didn't have to rush doing everything today as the party started at noon.  Everything pink (even though I have no idea if she even likes pink or will like pink)!  Pink plates, pink napkins, pink banner, pink/white balloons, and pink/white cake pops all to celebrate our sweet Emma's birthday.  I printed a picture of her for every month until today and added them to her banner.  It is amazing to see how much she has changed and how she is turning in to such a little girl.  I feel quite certain I was more excited as she had no idea what all the excitement was about.

It was BBQ and pool party time for Miss Emma's 1st birthday party!  My parents, and their great friend Marilyn from Baton Rouge joined us.  Yvonne Garcia and her kiddos came as well as the Trevino's (who we laughed at hysterically as Jill thought the party was at 3 vs noon...but they made it and we are so glad!)  We missed the Leavelle's and the Mitchell's as they were out of town.  Emma's main teacher/babysitter Alexa Miller came as well as Emma adores her and the feeling is mutual.

Yvonne got these great shots of Cash

I ordered her what they are now calling a "smash cake" which was all her's to dive in to after we sang to her.  I am pretty certain it was a success!

Next we opened gifts and she got the cutest clothes!!  She will be dressed to the nines for the next several months.  Alexa and Emma's other teachers (Miss Christy and Miss Leeandra) gave her the cutest nap sack so she will have it when she goes in the next room (the toddler room).   Alexa also made Emma an adorable bow holder with the absolute sweetest note on the back (definitely a keepsake) along with the cutest card.

We ended the day with Emma playing with her new grocery basket/groceries my parents got her.  She loves it and her 'bubba' joined in on the fun!

HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY sweet Emma!

Emma's first words:
