To start out the year the school had their annual Apex Fun Run. Cash must have run 30 plus laps.
My dad got joined Cash at school for another Veteran's Day celebration. I always feel very blessed that we have him here during times like this. Cash probably doesn't realize how fortunate he is yet that he has this time with his Papa. Looking back on moments like this he will.
Myself and Lisa Walker were room mom's again this year so we had the Christmas and Valentine's Day parties to plan. I think the kids had fun. They like anytime they get a break from the day to day.
Cash was selected this year to participate in the North East Physical Education Showcase. He was pretty excited! It was held at Blossom Athletic Center and there were kids from elementary schools all across the district. Each grade level performed a routine with a athletic theme to it. It was so cute!!!! Cash's routine was to the song Happy and the finally routine was to the song Whip Nae Nae.
For this years Spring festival each class had to make a silent auction "basket". This was for Cash's 3rd grade class!
Cash did the Bike Rodeo again this year...with the biggest bike there. He was a little nervous about having the biggest bike as he wasn't sure if it would make through the course. He did great though!!!
For some reason I have yet to understand the 3rd grade teachers gave the kids a major project at the end of the year. That project being to create/build a life size animal in the animal's natural habitat. Cash chose a jaguar. To stay the least I was not happy about this project as I don't have a creative bone in my body. Cash quickly picked up on my lack of enthusiasm...shame on me but I instantly felt overwhelmed. Not only did we have vacations planned and wouldn't even be home...they only gave the kids 2 weeks. So I called in the one person that I knew could pull this off....my mother!! She is super creative and instantly made it happen. Her and Cash made a beautiful jaguar cub and we were so amazed at how it turned out!!!!! All of the animals the kids made were put on display in the library at school. I was very impressed with some of the other projects I saw. A lot of effort went in to this project by the kids and their families.
Our outgoing, brave and sometimes fearless boy signed up for the talent show. When he told us he was going to participate in the talent show I was shocked and very envious. Cash always surprises me with his willing to try things no matter the outcome. I was completely opposite of that as a child and even to this day as an adult sometimes. He wanted to do a basketball routine and show off his "skills". The days leading in to the talent show he got pretty nervous and then the day of he was SUPER nervous. Of course my first instinct sadly, and not again, was to tell him he didn't have to do it. Ben was there with me obviously and said "don't tell him that". He was right. Cash needed to see it through...and he did. We were SO proud of him! I was just overwhelmed with joy and admiration for our incredible boy!
The last day of school arrived and I think Cash has grown a lot through out this year. It was hard at times and we could not be more proud or impressed with the young man he is turning in to. We love you Cash!!!!!
