Emma 2.5 - Potty Training

Our girl is potty training!!!!!!!!!!!  YAY!!!!  On the other hand of excitment I am sad because diapers (outside of her crib) is her last "baby thing".  We work hard as parents to encourage independence and growth but when its actually happening you want to stop time.  None the less this girl is plowing ahead no matter how much we want her to stay a toddler.  She is turning into a little girl right before our eyes.

We started the potty training process with just encouraging her to sit on the potty which she was reluctant to do.  Her pediatrician, Dr. McCray, shared with me that I should show her some potty training videos.  So I decided to play that card and low and behold it worked!  She wanted to go potty after showing her this cartoon video which is a song about going potty.  She loves it and sings along so that was a big deal and of course me screaming with excitement helped as well....she said "thank you everybody"!

Since then she has done so well....as we are now in March and she is in a pull up at school!!!!  Big girl!!!!  Next hurdle is getting her to tell us when she has to go.

We have already had some potty training fun with the toilet paper to!
