Cash - 2nd grade

It is hard to believe that Cash just finished the 2nd grade.  I don't know where the time goes.  I just know it goes by too fast!  He had an overall great year.  I still feel like the verdict is out on how we think the Dual Language program is working/not working.  Time will tell.  Moments of bad judgement reared their ugly head this year.  Cash let his temper get the best of him and it seemed like he struggled with that.  A combination of not knowing why it got the best of him and not being able to control his emotion.  Is that immaturity/maturity, growing pains, a combination of both?  I have no idea.  I never felt like I could express myself as he does when I was a child.  We are proud of Cash for allowing himself to show many emotions but look forward to the time when he comprehends when certain emotions are appropriate and that of course is maturity.  I know it will come....I have said several times this year that you are not suppose to say you want your children to grow up too fast but there are times that I look forward to Cash being more mature.

Cash's teacher this year was Miss. Analucia Martin.  She was so sweet and really care about Cash.  She was focused on his progress and behavior and communicating those with me.

First day of 2nd grade!

Emma loves her bubba!

This was learning from your grandparents day...what they could teach you...how things were different during their time.

Field trip....

I, along with Lisa Walker, was the room mom.  We planned the Christmas and Valentine's Day parties.

Cash's 2nd grade play for Christmas.

Miss. Martin - Valentine's Day party.

Bike rodeo

2nd grade had a recycling program.  Each student got to speak to their groups project...in Spanish!

Cash was Jackie Robinson this year for the 2nd grade Biography Walk...he read his lines in spanish without a note card...he did great!

Almost the last day of school...so we had some early fun at Thin Air!
