We started our Easter eve by joining the neighborhood Easter egg hunt.
The kids went to bed after putting out carrots and water for the "Easter Bunny" and soon thereafter we put out their Easter baskets. I did find it difficult this year to find an Easter basket for Cash. He still believes but everything out there is for those boys still watching Cars, etc. I went with a simple blue/green Easter basket...he didn't seem to mind or even pay attention to it. Next year, if he still believes, I will plan earlier.....get more creative! Emma got a Minnie Mouse bucket filled with all sorts of fun goodies!
The kids got up fairly early Easter morning to see what the "Easter Bunny" brought them and to see if he ate the carrots we left for him.
Andy came over Easter morning and brought the cutest Easter baskets for the kids! Cash got a baseball basket and Emma the cutest pink bunny basket! My parents came over shortly after and brought even more baskets for the kids. The definitely made out like bandits!
I love this picture...her daddy's hands...her first love!
I went back and forth on whether or not to make reservations for Easter brunch this year as we have every year and decided we should keep with tradition. So I made a reservation downtown at the Hilton Palacio Del Rio. Not only did they list some great food options but they had a petting zoo for the kids which I knew Cash and Emma would enjoy.
My parents were joining us for brunch so we all headed downtown for our continued Easter celebration. Cash couldn't wait to take his picture with the Easter bunny but Emma was not so interested! She just stared at him from a distance....her distance.
The food was good but again its brunch food....so expectations aren't extremely high but overall ok. Right after we ate we went out to the petting zoo where the kids got to pet and hold the sweet little animals...bunnies, baby goats and a pot belly piggy. Emma called all of them "puppies". Everything at that time was a puppy. She didn't care and thought all of them were SO cute!
It was a great day! Another great Easter!
