My Dad's 76th birthday

We made plans to take my dad to dinner at Ruth's Chris downtown for his 76th birthday.  Ben shared with me that he was thinking of buying my dad a Rolex as his gift.  I was taken aback at first...for several reasons.  The thoughtfulness of it had me in awe of Ben.  Obviously quite an investment....but one absolutely worth it.  I knew my dad would just be shocked...also for several reasons.  The fact that someone would do something so generous for him.  The fact we would make that type of investment for him and the sheer thoughtfulness of it all.

The investment itself goes beyond my dad as one day we know he will pass this watch down to Cash...college graduation...first "corporate" job...marriage....who knows.  One day it will mean more than even the day we gave it as the meaning of the man who passes it down will over value the watch itself.

Ben really searched for just the right watch and one he knew my dad would like.  After narrowing down the choices we finally decided on a beautiful two tone with gold face.  It was just breathtakingly beautiful!  

My mom was in on the surprise but my dad had no idea and we could not wait to give it to him.  We made it downtown, sat for dinner, ordered drinks and then.....

My dad was just so surprised!  I did get it on video and will treasure it forever!  It was a great night of which we will never forget!
