Fall break RV trip with the Leavelle's - Lake Whitney State Park

We took an rv trip before Thanksgiving with the Leavelle's and Steph's parents to Lake Whitney State Park.  The kids loved running around as much as they wanted to, building fires, smores, eating outside, riding bikes, fishing and playing "baseball".  Even my unadventurous self played.  Riding bikes still didn't make the list for me this time..but I am holding out hope.

Our 12th Anniversary

This year we celebrated our anniversary by waking up in our RV at Lake Whitney State Park.  It was nice to be away, have some quiet time (even with the kids there) and just take in what Mother Nature had to offer.  Camping is not my cup of tea unless there is a 45ft RV involved or a cabin of some sort but lucky for us we have one out of those two things and are able to go when we want.  Hoping over the next few years we are able to go more and see this country from the road.  The kids love it and sharing our anniversary with them made it even more special.  

Cash's 1st Football season

Cash wanted to play tackle football so in early Fall 2017 I started looking at different organizations in SA.  That "looking" led me to the Jr Broncos.  Much to my surprise they were a part of that Friday Night Tykes show a few years earlier.  It seemed they were still recovering from the bad reputation/exposure they received from that show.  None the less we registered him and he started his first, and last, season.  At least last for now.   We learned two things about Cash during the season. 1) he does not like the tackle aspect of tackle football but 2) he is unbelievably fast.  I joke about having no idea where he gets his love of tennis shoes and high end cars from but he absolutely got his speed from his dad!  Ben was able to assist with coaching which was great that he got to be so involved.   These pics are not in any particular order and I took quite a few shots of E while sitting at practice each week.

Cash's 11th Birthday

Here we are at the very pre-teen age of 11!  Cash wanted to invite a couple of friends over to go have dinner and see a movie.  He wanted to see Daddy's Home 2 but it didn't come out until the week after his birthday so I could see his little boy self battling with his pre-teen self this year.  Do I wait and celebrate with my friends a week after (pre-teen self) or just have them over the weekend of to celebrate because I don't want to wait (little boy self).  Well his pre-teen self won the battle and he decided to wait.  The shift has started.  That said he did get to celebrate in a big way with Ben as they headed to Miami to see a Miami Dolphins game the weekend of his birthday!  He was so surprised and it was great that they had that time together.

Cash is a car (and tennis shoe) fanatic...no idea where he gets that from!

While the boys were in Miami me and my girl had some girl time out!
