We signed her up and I have been preparing myself emotionally ever since! I know it will be so good for her and its only two days a week! 2 DAYS! It will actually be good for both of us....she will get to play with other kiddos her age, learn so much and be stimulated where at home that becomes harder as she gets older! For me....its time "for me" to do what needs to be done..those things that typically take time away from her when she is home with me. The overall goal being that she is prepared for kinder.
As we have been preparing for her first day of Mother's Day Out I will ask her if she is ready to go to school and she quickly tells me "I ready to go to school." and "I go to school."! I think the first few initial days will be hard for her as she is very attached to being with me every day but she will do great. Emma will thrive and many memories will be created!
We had orientation for the Tiny Tots program which was a time to learn expectations, meet the teacher(s) and drop off school supplies. E got to see her classroom and meet some of the friends that will be with her.
Second day of MDO and she is excited about going to school! She will tell us her teachers name, Miss. Meghan, when we ask her...and she says "I yuv her". That definitely makes us feel good. When we got to school things went from happy to sad very quick. Walking into school she became apprehensive but walking into her classroom she did not want to be there at all. It was obvious that it was because of all the kids crying. Some of the children at MDO have never been away from their mom's at all so its just hard on them. She's only upset for a short time and then she becomes Miss Independent.
